International market: German jewelry and watch industry

Germany's jewelry and watch industry is still dominated by exports. Despite the anti dollar power in Europe, the jewelry and watch industry in Germany has been performing very well in the international market in the face of global competition.

Jewelry, clocks and other products from "old" EU member states have the largest demand, accounting for about 65% of total exports. Jewelry is mainly sold to Austria, Britain, France and the Netherlands. Clocks and watches have the highest sales in Italy, France, Austria, Britain and Spain.

Since the expansion of the EU last year, the achievements of Germany's jewelry and watch industry in new member states have been improved. The growth of jewelry is mainly in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Estonia, while Poland and Hungary play a major role in clocks and watches.

Turning to overseas markets, North America is the most important market for the German watch industry, followed by China and Japan. It will be promising to sell German clocks there, as will the German jewelry industry in these countries. Consumer goods seem to have a good prospect, especially in Japan, which means that in 2005, we hope to strengthen foreign business and pay special attention to Japan.

The German jewelry, watches, silverware and other related industry alliance in Pforzheim hopes to greatly promote the export business of German exhibitors this year. At the Pakistan exhibition, more than 300 German exhibitors exhibited a large number of high-quality products to customers from all over the world, including jewelry, clocks, silver products, machinery and other ancillary products.
